Dialect

A little over twelve months ago, during a topsy turvy year, I came across Dialect. Founded in 2020 by two hugely talented, and very experienced writers, Dialect is a Gloucestershire based writing group supporting rural and edge of rural writers around the country. Needing somewhere grounding, to reignite my writing, I signed up to attend a Dialect retreat in Stroud. One brilliant day later, I’d found a place within the group and joined their uplifting and supportive family … I could write pages praising them.

Dialect writers
One of the great things about being part of an eclectic group, is the opportunity to read such diverse work. As evidenced in Notes from the Edge: Dialect Anthology 2023

Earlier in 2024, I was invited to write a blog post about my writing process for Dialect’s regular feature ‘Notes from the Edge‘. So today’s post links you through to my piece ‘A Kind of Writer’, and Dialect’s wider website. I hope you enjoy the read, and have time to explore other content during your visit. The Dialect space is a safe place for all manner of writers. I’ve met some fascinating people, read some wonderful work, and – most importantly – made new friends within the community.
