Photography Projects
Easter weekend, and many readers will be continuing to observe the social distancing and isolation measures which are in place around the world. Introverted by nature, I enjoy the continued downtime, with no expectations of mingling. Although I did mention last time that I hadn’t realised how much I rely on observing others for ideas generation. Today I thought I’d share a couple of ideas for photography projects. They are suited to all ages and experience levels, and any type of camera will do. I am going to try them out too.
Project One
Firstly, the thirty day project. As suggested by the title, this one takes place over thirty days. Thirty days, one item. The same item photographed in thirty different ways over the next 30 days. A simple premise, but a project which can be as creative as you like. For the purposes of this post, I’ve not been particularly imaginative with the first entry in my 30 day project. One of our son’s dinosaurs will be my model for the coming thirty days. Here it is – a very recognisable Triceratops – posing against a dark backdrop:
Project Two
The second project, is the A-Z project. This one takes place over 26 days, if using the English alphabet. Again, a simple idea, but one which will pose different challenges during the course of the project. Beginning with A, photograph an item every day, working through the alphabet. All the way from A-Z.
And for the first day, an almond. Pictured against a cloth backed notebook:
Both these pictures were taken with a mobile telephone camera, but I will alternate between this and my digital camera over the next few weeks.
If you would like a free guide with more ‘at home’ photography project ideas, there’s a link here through which you can request the PhotoShelter/Feature Shoot guide.
Until next time, take care and stay safe.

What a great idea! Our eldest is being very creative with his camera at the moment, he’ll especially love the 30 day project. Thank you for sharing 🙂
You’re welcome – have fun!
